This microwave (2.0 cubic ft/1100 watts) has everything we wanted and heats fast. Based on 1 week of experience would definitely recommend.
The reviews here appear to be a mix of the larger and smaller version...maybe that explains some of the different experiences? The vent fan is NOT loud, esp on the lowest setting (there are 5). The door does clunk if you just push it shut, but if you try to shut it quietly, it does.
Put it up myself, not easy, but doable for me (41 y/o male).
Some of the nice features:
- Popcorn button
- E-Z on (instant 30 seconds with each push)
- 5 Vent fan speeds - and vent fan can be set to auto-shutoff (1, 3, 5 min etc)
- Beeps/sound can be turned off
- Turntable On/Off
- More/Less buttons (10 sec increments)

| This microwave is wonderful. The quick heat buttons are convenient and easy to use. If you read Consumer Reports, it says this (or similiar) microwave has only a useful space of 0.9 cubic feet. Not so. This has a full 2.0 cubic feet of space which is great for cooking a ham or a large casserole dish. Very sharp design, useful and adequate lighting underneath. For the installation/do-it-yourselfers: It's 60 pounds and you have to lift it above your shoulders if you are installing over a stove. Follow the instructions to the letter, and all will turn out great. The directions are very good. Note: If you can, remove your stove before installing the microwave. The mfgr doesn't mention this, but it made things a lot easier (and I got to clean under it!)...2-3(-3 preferred) people are definitely needed to install this safely due to its weight and awkward size. I recommend this microwave highly! |

I love to cook and I hate using a microwave.
I had to replace the Magic Chef Microwave that came with my house, so I found this rather cheap microwave and threw it up in my kitchen.
Installation was a chore... that's the nature of hanging microwaves, but I think this was as easy as they get. The unit vents into your kitchen, or through a pipe to your exterior. The template and 6 screws hold it in place. It's very stable.
The shiny black exterior looks like it would scratch easily, but in my experience, it's actually highly durable and is very hard to scratch or mar. It shows fingerprints, but it's not too bad.
This unit cooks a bag of popcorn in 2 minutes 5 seconds (the popcorn button's setting), and gets the job done perfectly. It boils a cup of water for tea in 1 minute 30 seconds, and I think that's pretty quick. The defrost settings (where you hit a button for what you're heating, and a then select the weight) work very well. I also like the 'Hold Warm' feature, though I rarely have a need for it.
all in all, this microwave heats water, popcorn, and gets meat ready for the grill or skillet very effectively. This unit is far superior to my GE I had for years, or the Magic Chef. I find myself using this appliance far more than I used the other ones I've owned. Reliability is the most important factor, for me, and I haven't owned this long enough to tell you much there, but this unit feels very well built, and I probably will buy LG again if I have the option.
Also, Amazon shipped this thing to me, and it came very quickly and well packed (I used free shipping, of course).
I guess that's all I can say that's helpful to you, but I will try to come back in a couple of years to tell you if it lasted.
------
OK, it's been several months and apparently this microwave is not available for purchase, but I wanted to go ahead and note that the unit appears to be highly reliable. It gets a lot of use and we aren't particularly dainty with our kitchen appliances. I would go ahead and call this a reliable Microwave brand, in case you're considering a newer model of LG. |
Best microwave for the price

| I have owned several microwaves over the years and used them very little. This microwave is used on a daily basis on my home. It was very easy to install and the features this specific microwave has is perfect for our family. The options to soften or melt butter is great for baking. Popcorn button works great and no burnt popcorn. I like the additional shelf along with the turn-table. This enables more than one thing to be warmed in the oven at the same time. When I have a container that is taller than the lower portion will allow, the shelf is easy to remove. Cleaning is easy when at eye level and there is plenty of room for cooking on the stovetop. The lights are great for cooking and for nightlight use. |
